EUROPEAN CENTER FOR GEOLOGICAL EDUCATION

The project has resulted in an integrated complex of five facilities, 90% powered by renewable energy sources: earth heat and solar energy. The center fulfills complementary functions: teaching, research and development, conference and residence. The main building houses an auditorium and social facilities (canteen, reception). The laboratory building houses teaching and laboratory facilities, including chemical, microscopic, computer, geophysical, geological mapping and hydrogeological laboratories. The other three – are hotel buildings – for field courses and as facilities for organized conferences. In total, the Center has about 6,500 sq. m. of air-conditioned space, 300 conference seats and 170 hotel beds.
